Position Summary The Director, Tax & Treasury is responsible for leading the Companys corporate tax strategy, compliance, and international tax planning within a franchisebased operating model, while overseeing treasury activities to support liquidity, financial risk management, and capital planning. Reporting to the President, this role serves as the Companys subject matter expert in taxationboth domestic and internationaland partners closely with other departments to ensure tax efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective support of international expansion initiatives. This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to influence crossfunctional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead corporate tax planning and compliance for Canadian and international entities operating within a franchise system. Oversee preparation and coordination of corporate income tax filings, indirect taxes, and other statutory obligations. Develop and implement taxefficient structures to support franchise operations, royalty streams, intercompany arrangements, and crossborder expansion. Manage transfer pricing policies, intercompany agreements, and documentation to ensure compliance with Canadian and international regulations. Monitor legislative changes and assess implications for both corporate and franchise business models. Partner with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as required. Support internal and external audits as needed. Lead tax provisioning and related financial statement disclosures. International Taxation & CrossBorder Planning Provide strategic guidance on international tax matters relevant to franchise systems, including royalty withholding taxes, foreign tax credits, repatriation strategies, and permanent establishment considerations. Support international market entry initiatives through tax modeling, entity structuring, and regulatory assessments. Ensure compliance with crossborder reporting requirements and evolving global tax frameworks. Prepare executivelevel analysis and recommendations for senior leadership. Treasury Management Oversee enterprise cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning across corporate and franchiserelated revenue streams. Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and covenant compliance. Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including foreign exchange exposure associated with international franchise operations. Support capital planning and financing initiatives in collaboration with the Director, Finance. Maintain appropriate controls over treasury processes and cash management activities. Oversee insurance requirements for the Company and ensure coverage is continually updated/reviewed. Review the franchisee insurance requirements and ensure franchisee documentation is updated appropriately. Other duties as required. Qualifications CPA designation required; completion of the CPA InDepth Tax Course or equivalent advanced tax training strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax or public accounting, including exposure to international taxation. Experience working within or advising franchise systems, multientity structures, or royaltybased business models strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax, crossborder tax regulations, and transfer pricing principles. Experience supporting multinational or internationally expanding organizations. Strong analytical capability with the ability to communicate complex tax matters to nontechnical stakeholders. Ability to operate independently while influencing crossfunctional partners.
