Job Description

The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer, Water Resources/Stormwater Management who is passionate about creating positive change and wants to join a company that values its employees. Responsibilities Lead and support the design and implementation of water resources/stormwater management projects, including hydrologic assessments, flood plain mapping and mitigation, Low Impact Development (LID) and traditional infrastructure, storage ponds, diversion and control structures, and conveyance systems such as ditches, gravity sewers, watermains, forcemains, and pump stations. Expertise in stormwater management systems, hydraulic analysis, and hydraulic structure design, including channels, culverts, weirs, spillways, dams, bridge crossings, and ponds. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., SWMM, PCSWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MIDUSS, OTTHYMO). Prepare technical reports, design drawings, specifications, design calculations, and cost estimates. Review and interpret water resource/stormwater regulations and guidelines. Ensure project compliance with client needs and regulatory standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, ecologists, environmental specialists, and civil engineers. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff. Liaise with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies. Participate in proposal development and project budgeting. Support tender/construction administration and site inspections as needed. About You and Your Qualifications Accredited bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (masters degree is an asset). Professional Engineer Ontario (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration within two months. 10+ years of relevant experience in water resources/stormwater engineering and infrastructure design. Proficiency in water resources/stormwater modeling software and CAD tools. Strong understanding of municipal and provincial water resources/stormwater regulations, guidelines and approval processes. Strong technical skills, with a track record of preparing high-quality deliverables for environmental assessments and regulatory permits. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.
