Your Opportunity We are looking for a forest products instrumentation and controls engineer to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have experience in pulp and paper, paper, tissue manufacturing processes and/or other related bio-forestry sectors and have proven technical skills applicable to delivering or supporting these projects. Proven business development and client relationship management experience would also be an asset. This position will be considered in any location in the US/Canada with a Stantec presence. Your Key Responsibilities Providing Forestry/Sector Electrical technical expertise and engineering design support and input into projects. Lead or support development of engineering design tasks on Forestry sector projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines. Routine technical tasks include development of: - Design basis documents Engineering calculations including heat and mass balances Engineering drawings Engineering reports Feasibility studies Presentations to clients, regulatory agencies and/or project stakeholders Quality reviews Provide independent quality reviews for peers on other proposals or project deliverables within your technical subject matter expertise. Business development/application activities ranging from intentional listening to client needs and identifying related solution opportunities, to high level business meetings with, and presenting to, client executives. Support development and maintenance of sector relationships. Support and provide input into proposals. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and peers. Participate in client site visits as required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Familiar with forestry sector clients and major equipment suppliers. Ability to identify, evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project, and will perform a variety of tasks which may include inspection, troubleshooting, calculations, design sketches and concepts, estimating, calculating savings, report preparation and field work. Candidate should be comfortable presenting single source solutions. Strong leader and team player, collaborator, and communicator with good people skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members across multiple offices and geographies. Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to effectively work and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external customers. Experience in Project Management in delivering Forestry Sector projects would be beneficial. Experience in managing client expectations and engineering budgets. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines. Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites, when required. Holds a valid drivers'' license. Education and Experience Bachelor''s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 5 years of Forestry Sector engineering experience. Business Development experience would be considered an asset. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
