Learn more at vecima.com. Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer to lead high-speed digital architecture across next-generation broadband and networking platforms. You will own design around FPGAs, SoC processors, DDR memory subsystems, and multi-gigabit interfaces (PCIe, 1050Gb Ethernet, SERDES). This role focuses on digital system performance, signal integrity strategy, and scalable hardware architecture across major product lines. This is a senior, handson systemlevel architecture position focused on high-speed digital performance and real hardware validation not a management track role. Technical and engineering team leadership qualities are essential. Hybrid work supported (typically 23 days on-site for lab bringup and validation). What You Will Own System Architecture Define digital hardware architecture for complex networking platforms Select and integrate FPGA/SoC processors, transceivers, and memory architectures Establish interface strategy (PCIe, Ethernet, SERDES, JESD, LVDS, etc.) Drive timing closure, clocking architecture, and datapath performance HighSpeed PCB Design Architect and review 1016+ layer highspeed PCBs Define routing constraints, impedance strategy, skew budgets, and jitter margins Guide layout activity to ensure highspeed signal integrity and clean execution Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Strategy & Validation Lead signal integrity and power integrity methodology Guide IBIS/IBISAMI, Sparameter, and PDN simulations Debug highspeed failures and rootcause digital performance issues Define validation plans for BER, jitter tolerance, and interface margin testing BringUp & Technical Leadership Lead hardware bringup and interface validation Provide digital architecture guidance to FPGA, firmware, mechanical, and test teams Influence roadmap decisions (FPGA families, processor platforms, memory strategy) The Platforms You Will Work On Multilayer highspeed networking boards (1016+ layers) FPGAcentric or networkprocessorbased systems DDR4/DDR5 memory subsystems Multigigabit SERDES (10Gb/25Gb/50Gb class) Highreliability telecom environments with long product lifecycles What We Are Looking For 8+ years of experience in high-speed digital hardware development Proven ownership of architecturelevel decisions on complex boards Experience bringing multigigabit systems from schematic to production Strong Experience In Most Of The Following PCIe, Ethernet, SERDES, XFI, XAUI, JESD, LVDS, or similar high-speed interfaces FPGA architecture & transceiver configuration DDR memory channel modeling & tuning SI/PI simulation tools (IBIS, IBISAMI, Sparameters, PDN analysis) Multilayer PCB design tools (Altium, PADS, or equivalent) Lab proficiency with high-bandwidth scopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and protocol tools Why Join Us Own architecture decisions, not just execute them Work on complex communication and video platforms with long product lifecycles Hybrid flexibility with direct lab access and technical autonomy Stable roadmap with meaningful engineering challenges Saskatoon costofliving advantage + hybrid flexibility Relocation assistance available Vecima Recruitment Process Vecima takes great care to protect your privacy and personal information throughout the recruitment process.
