This role places you at the core of certified avionics system development, where technical rigor, system integration, and safetycritical performance are essential. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and customers on complex military and commercial avionics programs, contribute to certification activities, and influence technical decisions across the full system lifecycle. As an intermediate to senior role, this position also offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. This position reports to the Design Manager Military FMS and does not involve direct people management. The role carries significant technical leadership responsibility. As an Avionics System Engineer your key responsibilities include: Interface with internal and external customers during the definition and implementation of avionics systems integration Generate certification documentation demonstrating subsystem compliance with OEM certification plans Define and develop system requirements documentation for physical and logical interfaces Develop and execute functional test procedures for all avionics subsystems, including stress testing and outofbounds testing Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve avionics integration issues on integration rigs and during flight test activities Document, track, and drive the resolution of anomalies resulting from design errors and equipment failures, and support programlevel change management activities To Join Our Team, You Must Systemlevel knowledge of at least five (5) avionics systems such as: FMS, GNSS, HUD, EFIS/EICAS, TAWS, TCAS/Transponders, VHF Communications/Navigation, aircraft networks, Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Synthetic or Enhanced Vision Systems Experience troubleshooting avionics systems on integration rigs and/or flight test aircraft Strong engineering judgment with the ability to assess technical risks, costs, and benefits Demonstrated customer focus and commitment to delivering highquality technical solutions To Excel In This Role, You Must Have Hold a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline Possess at least 5 years of experience in the design and development of aviation electronic systems, software and/or hardware, within a certified or safetycritical environment Experience with avionics system integration, requirements development, and functional verification Exposure to aviation standards organizations such as RTCA, AEEC, and SAE Exposure to safetyoflife certification processes and regulatory authorities, including TCCA and FAA Strong analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams What We Offer Group insurance paid at 100% and pension plan with employer participation Financial assistance program for studies Free electrical terminals Onsite cafeteria at low cost Closed during the endofyear holidays Internationalcalibre company on a human scale CMC is committed to employment equity and to the equal access program.
