Position Summary The Specifications Consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with architects, designers, end users, and other stakeholders who influence Division 8 specifications. The role focuses on driving specification activity across new construction, major retrofit, and aftermarket projects, while supporting alignment between architectural intent and commercial execution. This position works collaboratively with internal specification writers, product specialists, sales teams, and distributor partners to strengthen market presence and increase project engagement. Primary Responsibilities Develop and maintain strategic relationships with architectural and design professionals across Ontario Promote Division 8 products through in-person presentations, technical consultations, and educational sessions Identify and influence specification opportunities in new build and retrofit environments Collaborate with internal teams to support specification development and project alignment Coordinate across related specification sections (e.g., hollow metal, sliding doors, Division 28 electronics) Provide guidance related to building codes, accessibility standards, and hardware system performance Maintain accurate and disciplined CRM documentation of contacts, project leads, and influence activity Contribute to continuous improvement of specification resources, presentation materials, and product knowledge Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in architectural hardware, construction, or specification consulting Strong understanding of Division 8 products and construction project stages Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility requirements Experience delivering technical presentations and product education to design professionals Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationshipsExperience collaborating with sales, estimating, and technical support teams Core Competencies Relationship-driven consultative approach Strong communication and presentation skills Strategic thinking with commercial awareness Organized, process-oriented, and CRM disciplined Ability to operate independently within a collaborative environment This role is suited to a professional who is comfortable operating within an influence-based sales model and contributing to long-term market development through technical expertise and relationship management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
