Focus on large municipal water and wastewater treatment projects but may also include pump station and industrial water projects. These projects include feasibility studies, conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, along with on-site construction coordination for ongoing water and wastewater treatment projects. Responsibilities Contribute to the planning and design of municipal water and wastewater treatment systems and pump stations, working under the guidance of senior engineers. Support feasibility studies, conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs through engineering calculations, design development, and technical analysis. Prepare technical deliverables such as design reports, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation to summarize calculations, economic analyses, and design bases. Develop and review conceptual and detailed design drawings, calculations, construction specifications, tender documents, and applications for regulatory approvals. Assist with process modelling and simulation to support treatment process evaluation and design. Participate in field work and site investigations in support of design activities, including pilot studies and constructionrelated support as required. Communicate design progress, technical findings, and task status with senior engineers and project managers. Prepare and contribute to technical presentations and materials for clients and project stakeholders. Coordinate and collaborate with internal disciplines, including CAD technicians, engineers, and project managers, to support integrated project delivery. Support project managers by completing assigned tasks in accordance with project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements. Participate in meetings with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders to support project coordination and respond to technical requirements. Education And Experience Bachelors degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, with a strong interest in water and wastewater projects. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or an Engineer in Training (EIT) with APEGA and eligible and willing to obtain registration within one year of hire. 4+ years of relevant experience in the analysis and design of municipal and/or industrial water and wastewater systems. Previous coop or internship experience in consulting or infrastructure projects is considered an asset. A masters degree in a relevant engineering field is considered an asset. Valid drivers license and a satisfactory driving record, with the ability to travel to project sites as required. This role is primarily based in a typical office environment involving computerbased work for extended periods. Field work may be required and can include exposure to outdoor conditions and inclement weather. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for parttime roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
