Senior Data Engineer - Fintech (Series D) About The Role We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design and scale the data infrastructure powering a $200M Series D fintech firm. Our mission is to deliver secure, reliable, and intelligent financial technology products that serve customers globally. As a Senior Data Engineer, youll play a key role in building data systems that handle sensitive financial data, drive realtime decisioning, and enable analytics across the organization. Youll work closely with product managers, compliance experts, and engineering teams to ensure our data platforms not only scale with rapid growth but also meet the highest standards of accuracy, governance, and security. This is a handson role with direct impact on how we manage, analyze, and deliver data across highvalue fintech applications. What Youll Do Architect Scalable Pipelines: Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows and realtime streaming systems that power financial products and compliance reporting. Ensure Data Quality: Implement validation, lineage tracking, and governance practices to guarantee trustworthy financial datasets. Integrate Across Systems: Design data flows connecting payment processors, banking APIs, risk systems, and analytics platforms. Collaborate CrossFunctionally: Work with risk, compliance, and product teams to deliver data solutions that satisfy regulatory and business requirements. Enable Advanced Analytics: Support data science and BI teams with reliable, structured, and highperformance datasets. Drive Observability: Implement monitoring and alerting for data pipelines to ensure transparency and reliability in production. Mentor & Guide: Share best practices in data engineering with peers and contribute to shaping engineering culture in a scaling fintech environment. What Were Looking For Professional Experience: 5-8 years in data engineering, ideally within fintech, banking, or other regulated industries. Programming Skills: Expertise in Python or Scala, with strong SQL experience. Data Platforms: Handson experience with modern warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift) and data lakes. Streaming & Orchestration: Knowledge of Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, dbt, or similar frameworks. Cloud Expertise: Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including security and compliance tooling. Financial Data Understanding: Familiarity with transaction data, payments, or risk modeling systems is strongly preferred. Governance & Security: Experience with data privacy, encryption, and regulatory compliance (SOC 2, PCI, GDPR, etc.). Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
