This role provides leadership across Animal Care, Education, and Supervisory teams while supporting administrative and operational requirements.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide daily leadership and supervision to Animal Care, Marine Life Education, and Supervisory staff.Conduct routine walk throughs to ensure productivity, safety, cleanliness, and guest service standards.Lead, implement, and monitor animal behavioral training programs using operant conditioning and positive reinforcement techniques.Coach, train, and evaluate staff to ensure consistent application of training methods and safe animal interactions.Support departmental operations, including training records, payroll, and administrative tasks.Collaborate with Maintenance, Guest Services, and Marketing to support operational and guest needs.Respond to guest inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.Ensure compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and organizational policies.Assist with public presentations, animal shows, and guest interactions as required.Perform other related duties as assigned.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in life sciences or related field preferred; equivalent marine animal training experience may be considered.Minimum three (3) years of marine mammal care and training experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory role.Veterinary technician experience is an asset.Strong knowledge of operant conditioning theory and modern animal husbandry practices.Experience working within a CAZA accredited facility preferred.Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.First Aid/CPR and Rescue SCUBA Diver certification considered assets.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Valid Class 5 drivers license with a clear drivers abstract.Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:This full-time, salaried role requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and occasional late shifts.Participation in an on call rotation to respond to operational or animal care needs outside of regular working hours, as required.Eligible for participation in the 4-day work week program subject to operational requirements.Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.Must be able to pass a basic security clearance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
