Key Responsibilities Support and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedulesEnsure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP / ASPESupport year-end audit, review, and tax compliance processes Job Costing, WIP & Project Accounting Oversee job costs for residential construction and land development projects using Sage 300 and Homefront softwareReview and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and margin recognitionMonitor cost-to-complete estimates and gross margin forecastsPartner with construction and development teams to assess variances, overruns, and cost trends Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Support annual budgets and rolling forecasts by project and communityMonitor project and corporate-level cash flowPrepare and review construction loan and mortgage draw submissionsEnsure compliance with loan agreements, covenants, and reporting requirements Systems, Controls & Process Improvement Act as a key user and subject-matter expert for Sage 300 and HomefrontAssist with system integrations, upgrades, and process automation initiativesDevelop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and proceduresIdentify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalabilityReview work prepared by the accounting teamProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team membersProvide backup support to the Controller and assume responsibilities as needed Qualifications Bachelors degree in accounting or finance5+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience in residential home building, construction, or land developmentStrong knowledge of job costing, WIP, and project accountingHands-on experience with Sage 300 and HomefrontAdvanced Excel skillsCPA or working toward designation (preferred)Experience with construction lending, mortgage draws, and covenants (preferred)Exposure to multi-entity accounting (preferred)Experience supporting ERP implementations or system improvements (preferred) Type of Person Who Will Succeed in this Role Strong attention to detail with operational awarenessAbility to work cross-functionally with construction and development teamsClear communicator with finance and non-finance stakeholdersProactive, ownership-oriented mindsetDental careExtended health careDisability insuranceLife insuranceOn-site parking Schedule In-office (required) Experience Bachelors degree: in accounting or finance (preferred)Progressive accounting experience: 5 year (preferred) Next Steps If this opportunity captures your interest, we would love to hear from you.
