The Manager, Business Development will be a key point of contact for new and existing licensing and acquisition partners. The BD Manager will be expected to continuously identify new product opportunities, negotiate deal terms, and strengthen and manage partnerships. In addition to identifying new product opportunities the Manager will be required to understand the competitive environment, identify opportunities to export proprietary products, work with internal teams to advance products of interest, and Project Management the pipeline of BD products to ensure that SteriMax continuously meets the timeline for filing, approval, and launch of new products. This position will report to the Director, Business Development and will require International Travel. Detailed Responsibilities Alliance Management Key contact for all business related issues and the clarification of contract terms. Support Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Operations for: Filing new products with Health Canada Release of products into the market Ongoing operational concerns Work with partners to solve issues obtaining regulatory documentation, development of presentations to meet Canadian requirement and contract issues. Act as internal champion to make sure new projects meet regulatory filing timelines. Monitor BD cycle times (time to deal completion) and support initiatives to improve Regulatory cycle times (time to filing). Establish schedule for communications with all partnerships to review ongoing business activities, identify new opportunities, and keep partners informed of the market dynamics (ex: marketing plans, sales, competition) on a routine basis. When necessary, negotiate with partner to improve or modify terms. Licensing/Partnering Continuously develop a list of new potential partners to ensure SteriMax maintains a portfolio of products in development and filed with Health Canada. Proactively identify territories of interest for export opportunities. Identify Partner of choice for the products of interest and act as internal champion to advance discussions. Identification and assessment of the company for fit with BD strategy, inlicensing and outlicensing. Draft and Negotiate Term Sheet. Lead, under supervision of Director, BD, in negotiation of License and Supply agreement. Work with internal resources to identify development projects of interest. Develop and keep up to date databases for: Global and local competitors API Sources Manufacturing sites Other duties as required by the Director, BD Strong written and oral communication skills. Fluency in Mandarin is considered an asset. Diplomatic but assertive with people and captures their commitment to achieve superior results. Minimum of five years of related experience preferably in the Pharmaceutical industry. Working with API and CMO organizations will be considered an asset. Knowledge of Canadian market dynamics and partnership mechanisms.
