Position: Technical WriterDuration: 1 year (estimated)Location: Ottawa, OntarioWork Model: RemoteEngagement Model: Incorporated Contractor (INC)About Our Client:A federal department of Canada focused on fostering a competitive, knowledge-based economy through innovation, scientific research, and business growth.About this opportunity:On behalf of our client, Akkodis is seeking experienced Technical Writers to lead the development of highquality Statements of Work (SOWs) that support earlystage R&D, prototype development, and realworld testing of Canadian innovations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with federal departments and innovative small and mediumsized enterprises to translate proposals, requirements, and test plans into clear, structured SOWs that form part of formal Government of Canada contracts. What Youll Do:Lead the development, writing, and refinement of Statements of Work (SOWs), translating proposals, requirements, and test plans into clear, compliant, contractready documentation.Collaborate closely with suppliers, federal departments, and program stakeholders to define scope, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities, and to finalize SOWs for Government of Canada contracts What You Bring:7+ years of experience in writing Statements of Work (SOWs) and/or Statements of Requirements.7+ years of experience in developing documentation to support procurement operations, involving knowledge and application of federal government policy and procedures.7+ years of experience analyzing complex technical or functional requirements and producing clear, structured, contractready documentation.7+ years of experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, federal departments, program teams) to define scope, deliverables, timelines, and costs.3+ years of experience in working with the scientific process (experimentation/prototyping) or in Research and Development (R&D).Relevant university degree and/or diploma in a related fieldNice to HaveRelevant professional certifications (Business or Technology related)Experience supporting largescale organizations in the public or private sectorSecurity Clearance:All candidates must possess a current and valid federal government Level 2 Secret Clearance.
