Economic & Financial Planning Building for success in the future Employment Opportunity: Centre Manager - Summer School for Newcomers 2026 April 7, 2026 | Canada We are looking for a Centre Manager for Summer School for Newcomers 2026 to be available in multiple cities. About the Program The Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) is offering a Summer School program focused on Literacy and Mathematics for newcomer students currently in Grades 1 through 11 at various Jamat Khanas across Canada. About the Role AKEB invites applications from individuals who have an interest in ensuring the smooth running of the summer school program at individual sites across the country. The successful candidate will coordinate with Centre teaching staff and volunteers, coordinate logistics, and communicate with various teams and stakeholders. The Centre Manager will serve as the key point of contact for daytoday operations and ensure all activities run efficiently and safely. Hiring will be based on student enrollment and centre availability. Grade levels and locations may be adjusted based on registration numbers and program needs. Scheduling and program hours will be determined by individual centres. About You Applicants must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. They must be available for the full duration of the summer school period. Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. They must also hold a current valid First Aid Certificate. The successful candidate will: Act as the main point of contact for the Education Board. Facilitate volunteers, teaching staff, and parents during operating hours. Lead regular checkins with teaching staff and volunteers to monitor progress and address issues. Engage local JK stakeholders as needed for smooth operation of the program. Coordinate daily opening and closing of the property/facility with IV team. Liaise with the property manager to coordinate facility use and room bookings. Ensure compliance with all safety and security procedures onsite. Support paid teaching staff with facility requirements to ensure program delivery. Coordinate with snack Lead to ensure timely and safe distribution of refreshments. Coordinate with bus volunteers to manage transportation logistics for students, if applicable. Support in recruiting additional volunteers as required for program execution. Serve as the link between the summer school operations team, JK Leadership and AKEB. Report any incidents, maintenance issues, or staff concerns to the appropriate authority in a timely manner. Work closely with the AKEB.
