Why a Great Opportunity Job Description Responsible for the management, reporting, and documentation of all employee records, including employee registration, I-9, onboarding, offboarding, disciplinary actions, and personnel files. Oversee employee benefit plan enrollment and administration, such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, AFLAC, and FSA. Develop, implement, and update personnel policies and procedures, maintain the Companys employment policies and procedures manual, and ensure compliance by all personnel. Manage and document workplace and employee training and compliance, including safety and various licenses and permits. Engage with all employees, including field/shop/packing houses, regarding HR policies and procedures, and address employee concerns and questions. Visit ranches, shop, and packing houses on a regular basis to ensure HR and safety compliance. Conduct thorough investigations with thorough documentation when necessary. Work with attorneys and insurance companies regarding workers comp and employee claims. Actively supervise the HR and office administrative staff, ensuring followup on duties and tasks. Administer the annual performance appraisal process and monitor employee evaluation. Recruit new employees and conduct interviews. Evaluate HR reports, decisions, and results of the department. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the departments services. Participate in business and departmental meetings as needed. Complete other tasks as requested by management. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of HR Management in an Agricultural environment Bilingual in Spanish preferred Bachelors degree preferred Thorough knowledge of Federal and CA state employment laws, rules, regulations, and best practices, including CA Wage Order #14 for Agricultural employees Understanding of CA EDD, OSHA, DIR & DLSE, ALRB, DOT and DMV Expertise in workplace safety and compliance Familiar with dealing with attorneys and insurance companies regarding workers comp and employment claims Experience managing and mentoring HR team Organized, with ability to prioritize and follow through under minimal supervision Effective communicator with all levels of management, employees, and outside personnel Analytical thinker and problem solver Proactive provider of excellent customer service to company personnel, as well as to Farm Labor Contractors, HR partners, vendors, and government agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
