Job Description

Chief Growth Officer (CGO) The CGO is responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth across our direct sales channel and broker partner channel. This leader will expand our direct presence throughout the Maritimes and position SE Mutual as the insurer of choice for families, businesses, and farmers. You will oversee the companys sales strategy, business development, broker relations, and marketing function, ensuring alignment with SEMs strategic priorities and longterm vision for growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Partner closely with the CEO and Executive Team to establish short and longterm growth targets and priorities. Contribute to companywide strategic planning and decisionmaking as a trusted senior leader. Provide insight into market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities. Represent the development function at the Board level, offering regular updates on growth initiatives, sales performance, and strategic progress. Growth & Business Development Lead the expansion of SEMs direct sales channel across the Maritimes, focusing on highquality growth. Build and execute a longterm gotomarket strategy to strengthen brand visibility and attract new policyholders. Identify new market opportunities, geographic expansion paths, and potential mergers/partnerships. Lead crossfunctional growth initiativesaligning sales, marketing, underwriting, and technology to reinforce success. Direct Sales Channel Leadership Provide leadership and coaching to the Direct Sales Team, ensuring strong performance, professionalism, and accountability. Develop sales targets, activity expectations, and performance measurement frameworks. Implement systems, tools, and training that enable sales excellence and customer engagement. Oversee recruitment, development, and retention of highperforming direct sales talent. Broker Channel Leadership Strengthen and grow relationships with SEMs network of broker partners. Develop a broker engagement strategy focused on value, responsiveness, and collaboration. Monitor broker performance, retention, and growth results; identify opportunities to enhance partnership outcomes. Work with brokers to promote SEMs products, brand, and unique mutual advantage. Marketing & Brand Leadership Oversee the Marketing Department and all brand initiatives. Guide the development and execution of marketing campaigns, digital strategy, sponsorships, and community presence. Ensure SEMs brand messaging is consistent, compelling, and rooted in the values of a mutual insurer. Manage the annual marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of resources. Use analytics and market intelligence to evaluate campaign performance and adjust strategies. Performance Management & Reporting Establish and monitor KPIs for sales, broker results, marketing, and overall growth initiatives. Provide regular reporting and updates to the CEO and Board. Use data to inform decisions, identify risks, and optimize performance across all development functions. Qualifications Postsecondary education in business administration or a related field. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience. Experience in the insurance industry is preferred. Proven experience leading crossfunctional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations. Exceptional problemsolving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong capability in change management and driving organizational improvements in fastpaced environments. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board, regulators, and external partners. Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
