Responsibilities - Prepare and maintain system operating maps, drawings and records associated with the installation of utility plans using CAD, GIS and other computer database technologies. - Conduct activities related to locating underground utility plant for customers both internal and external to the company. - Assist in the inspection of subdivisions and other projects. - Perform and /or assist in field service work. - Revise and maintain up-to-date records, drawings, maps, and schematics. - As directed, upgrade to Field Services Representative to support the Locates function. Qualifications - At minimum, a post-secondary diploma in an Electrical Engineering Technology program, with a GIS or CAD specialty, or equivalent. - Experience working in an engineering, municipal or utility workplace for a minimum of five (5) years. - Sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical or water distribution facilities. - Strong working knowledge and ability to operate systems, particularly GIS, CAD and database programs. - Ability to safely use a variety of electronic and mechanical equipment. - Ability to work independently and to take initiative. - Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong organizational skills. - Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario drivers license.
