Position Overview Langham Evangelical Bible Church in Langham, SK, is seeking an Associate Pastor who loves preaching the Word of God, helps individuals grow in faith, and has a heart for younger families. The role eventually transitions into Senior Pastor. The next Senior Pastor will retire within a period of 9 months to 1 years. Position Purpose Primary focus: - Engage in a preaching and teaching ministry to a congregation of approximately 110 adults and children. - Begin with a 50% preaching schedule, with the expectation of moving to Senior Pastor in the stated timeframe. Secondary focus: - Motivate and encourage the congregation to grow and serve together. Qualifications - Must exhibit a growing relationship with God and be a passionate and obedient follower of Jesus Christ. - Must fulfill the character qualifications as set out in 1Timothy3:27 and Titus1:69. - Must have a consistent devotional and prayer life. - Must be in full agreement with our Statement of Faith and Church Constitution. - Must complete the FEBCs Application for Ministry. - Must have a heart for, and be committed to, seeing people grow and mature spiritually in Christ and fostering a desire to share the Word and disciple others. - Must have gifts of organization, administration, and/or coordination and love to use them to bless and encourage the church. - Must be comfortable encouraging and motivating others to fulfill their Godgiven potential and use their gifts in service and grow in their relationship with Christ. - Must be comfortable reaching out to new people, families, and children in the church and community. - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage audiences of all ages in a clear and relevant manner. - Selfmotivated, humble, teachable, flexible, and a lifelong learner. - Able to walk alongside others in their trials and struggles, offer biblical insight, and direct to further guidance where needed. - Should have Bible college or seminary education. - Minimum 35 years of ministry/church experience is desirable given the nearfuture promotion. Responsibilities Preaching & Teaching - Preach approximately twice per month (about 50% of the time); more often if a series is undertaken. - Bring a devotional for our Jr. or Sr. youth groups as needed. - Lead Adult Sunday School as part of a team of leaders. Motivation & Encouragement - Recruit, motivate, and train volunteers for service ministries. - Work with men of the church to help them grow as fathers and leaders in the home and church. Other - Leave time for unplanned needs that arise within the congregation and community. - Report directly to the Senior Pastor and Elder Board.
