What Youll Do Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on-premises and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. Ensure data quality, security, and governance in compliance with best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into effective data models and architectures. Build and optimize reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, and Python libraries. Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and deliver insights supporting policy and service improvements. Manage data migrations and troubleshooting across diverse environments, utilizing tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, APIs, and version control systems. What You Bring to the Table A Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Over 10 years of handson experience as a Data Engineer and/or Data Analyst. Proven expertise designing dimensional models (star and snowflake schemas) for data warehousing and analytics. Extensive experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations with Power BI, Tableau, or Python. Strong skills in SQL, NoSQL, data manipulation, and working with large, disconnected datasets. Familiarity with modern DevOps practices including Git, CI/CD workflows, Docker/Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation). Knowledge of data pipelines, migration strategies, and data governance principles. Ability to work effectively remotely and collaborate with teams in a fastpaced, Agile environment. Nice to Have Experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, or predictive analytics. Knowledge of Alberta government or similar public sector settings. Experience with Azure Databricks, AI/machine learning, and NLP technologies. Programming/scripting expertise in objectoriented and functional languages. Additional Requirements Proven examples of complex data projects with detailed descriptions. Ability to attend occasional meetings or work sessions in Edmonton as needed.
