Role Overview Long-term, full-time contract supporting heavy maintenance and conversion of Dash 8 Q400 aircraft to aerial firefighting configurations. This role is primarily Q400-focused, with flexibility to assist across other teams or facilities as required. Key Responsibilities Perform heavy maintenance on Dash 8 Q400 and other regional turboprop aircraft Complete mechanical tasks including engine checks, wheel/brake changes, inspections, and repairs Support Q400 aerial firefighting conversion programs Troubleshoot mechanical systems and basic electrical/avionics issues Assist with line maintenance as required Accurately document maintenance activities and follow all safety and regulatory standards Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Use and maintain personal tooling Required Qualifications Valid AME M2 license (held for 3+ years) 2+ years of heavy maintenance experience on regional or commercial aircraft Current Human Factors certification (2024 or newer) Strong ability to interpret maintenance manuals and technical documentation Compensation Options (Incorporated Contractor) Hourly Rate: $53.80/hr AME S licensed with ACA: up to $58.00/hr Daily Rate: $75 per day worked Living Out Allowance (LOA): $2,000/month Equivalent to $461.53/week Travel (Flying): Up to $720 one-way Driving Mileage: Up to 1,000 km at CRA rate ($0.72/km) Travel Allowance Hours to BC: Up to 10 hours at start and end of contract (20 hours total), paid at contractor rate Tools: Required by contractor Payroll: Weekly pay (SundaySaturday cycle) (Hourly rate is not taxed and not eligible for vacation, statutory, or overtime pay) Job Type & Location Contract to Hire based out of Vancouver, BC.
