Job Summary The Automotive Service Technician inspects, maintains and repairs automobiles that run on electricity, gasoline or alternative fuels like ethanol. He/she executes basic care maintenance like tire rotations and oil changes, diagnosing complex problems and planning and executing vehicle repairs. Job duties * Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly. * Isolate the systems or components that may have caused the problem. * Drive the vehicle for testing purposes or using various equipment, including diagnostic computers. * Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles. * Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicles breakdown or damage. * Follow a checklist to ensure that each critical part of the vehicle is examined. Requirements include: * High school diploma, GED or equivalent. * Valid drivers licence. * 310S license * Professional demeanor * Efficient problem-solving skills * Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications, able to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly are important characteristics of the successful applicant. Work conditions * Manual dexterity required to complete maintenance and repairs * Occasional lifting of items up to 100 lbs. * Exposure to rust and other substances.
