Your area of focus In this exciting role, the Automotive Assistant Sales Manager is a highly driven manager who works closely with the sales manager to run the daily operations of our store. The assistant sales managers responsibilities include developing strategies to improve sales, handling customer complaints, recruiting sales staff, delegating tasks in the absence of the sales manager, and ensuring staff comply with company policies. The role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service at all times. What drives your day-to-day? Consistently and profitably meet vehicle sales quotas through expert management and leadership of the sales team and by filling in front end positions when necessary (desking, calling in deals, contracting customers and performing the finance role when needed). Selling and achieving individual targets. Assisting with marketing of dealership inventory. Managing, training and directing a team of Sales Professionals. Motivating the team through the companys vision, mission and performance standards. Communicating clear expectations and holding the team accountable to brand loyalty standards. Managing the execution of the current sales process to deliver a premium customer experience. Maintaining the highest degree of customer satisfaction. Leading continuous improvement efforts that support annual sales goals and cost control. Negotiating price, completing sales or purchase agreements and explaining warranties, service and finance. Closing deals and monitoring team deal closings. Motivating Sales Professionals daily to maintain high morale. Interpreting reporting and managing the department by the numbers. Supporting administrative functions and acting as backup for the finance manager when needed. Performing other duties as assigned. What are the musthaves? 12 years of experience in automotive dealership sales or finance, including closing deals. Postsecondary education in a related discipline (asset). Sales experience with verifiable proof of meeting targets. Professional and exceptional service to clients. Understanding of financial systems, banks and the structure of deals. Desire to work in a commission, performancebased environment. Diplomacy, negotiation and conflictresolution skills. Strong organizational and timemanagement skills. Ability to manage priorities, multitask and meet deadlines and targets. High integrity and reliable commitments. Detailoriented, selfmotivated and resourceful. Resultsdriven, careerfocused with entrepreneurial spirit and success drive. Experience using CRM, VAuto or other automotive software systems (asset).
