Pikiskwewin Project Coordinator Term position Indigenous Communications and Fine Arts Regina Campus The Project Coordinatorwill work closely with the Executive Producerto coordinate the development, production, and promotion of podcast series for the pkiskwwin.ca Indigenous Language Podcast Network. The Coordinator will play a central role in managing project activities, supporting podcast development with language speakers and learners, maintaining the project website and digital platforms, coordinating social media promotion, and supporting financial tracking and reporting requirements for the Canadian Heritage contribution agreement. This role combines media production coordination, communications, research support, project administration, and financial tracking. Duties Podcast Development and Production Work closely with the Executive Producer to support development of new podcast series Coordinate podcast planning meetings and production schedules Assist with planning and organizing podcast interviews Support collaborations with Indigenous language speakers, Elders, teachers, and learners Help organize scripts, recordings, and production materials Assist in developing innovative podcast formats to support language learning Community and Radio Partnerships Work with Indigenous community radio stations and national Indigenous radio networks to identify language programming that can be adapted into podcasts Assist in capturing and producing language content from radio programming Coordinate guest interviews with language speakers and educators Support partnerships with Indigenous media organizations across Canada Archival Podcast Development Assist in identifying archival recordings that can be developed into podcast series Work with partners to prepare archival audio materials for publication Support development of archival storytelling projects and language resources Website Management Maintaining and improving pkiskwwin.ca is a central responsibility. Reviewing and updating website content Uploading podcast episodes and media materials Preparing episode descriptions and metadata Uploading photos, host biographies, and language learning resources Ensuring consistency in formatting and presentation across the site Monitoring the website for technical issues or outdated content Podcast Content Preparation Host and producer biographies Episode summaries and descriptions Photos and captions Links to language-learning resources Educational or learning materials related to podcast topics Social Media Management Manage and develop social media for the pkiskwwin podcast network. YouTube LinkedIn Facebook Project Administration and Financial Tracking The Project Coordinator will support project administration and financial management tasks including: Tracking project budgets and expenditures Maintaining a project budget spreadsheet Preparing expense forms through the universitys online system Assisting with preparation and tracking of invoices Maintaining organized project records Consent, Permissions, and Contracts Because the project involves recording and sharing Indigenous language knowledge, careful documentation is essential. Responsibilities include: Administering consent and permission forms Ensuring documentation aligns with OCAP principles(Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession) Maintaining secure records of permissions and agreements Assisting with contracts and logistical arrangements, including speaker agreements hotel and venue contracts for project events and conferences Reporting and Compliance (Canadian Heritage) The Project Coordinator will assist the Executive Producer in ensuring that the project meets the reporting requirements of the Canadian Heritage Indigenous Languages contribution agreement. Responsibilities include: Assisting with preparation of Interim Activity and Results Reports Assisting with preparation of Final Activity and Results Reports Supporting preparation of Cash Flow reports and expenditure summaries Maintaining documentation related to project outputs and outcomes Tracking podcast production, community participation, and audience reach Compiling materials required for project reporting, including: website analytics community participation Maintaining organized project files to support audits and financial reporting Qualifications Applicants must have a Masters degree and at minimum three (3) years of experience working in a post-secondary context. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required Knowledge of First Nations history, cultural diversity, values and traditional ways of knowing, being and doing. Experience using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Experience in website maintenance is preferred Experienced project manager preferred Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to plan events. Ability to manage several projects at once while maintaining deadlines. Works collaboratively as a member of a team and demonstrated ability to work independently. Proven ability to establish positive relationships. Excellent problem-solving skills. Confident public speaker, facilitator and presenter. Offers and accepts feedback and self-advocates for needs.
