Job Description

Canaccord Genuity (CG) is a leading independent full-service financial services firm with operations in wealth management and capital markets. Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 Canaccord Genuity Corp. is currently looking for a knowledgeable, organized and detail-oriented Senior Associate for its Client Tax Reporting team a fulltime 6month contract. Primary Responsibilities Peak Tax Season (High Priority) Review the uploaded CDS Tax Factors in the Tax Module for accuracy during tax season. Validate and submit CRA and IRS tax files; liaise with internal/external stakeholders to resolve any outstanding issues. Perform withholding tax corrections (e.g., nontreaty to treaty rate adjustments). Run taxrelated queries, review data, and report or elevate incorrect transactions for resolution. Process and mail out amended tax slips and reports as directed. Provide additional support and coverage during peak tax season, including extended duties as required. Assist with reviewing the FATCA and CRS error files for CRA Tax Filing. Ongoing and YearRound Responsibilities Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and yearend tax functions, ensuring all deadlines are met. Review and reconcile tax control accounts, ensuring corrections are processed accurately and timely. Conduct the annual review of International Tax Treaties and update the country matrix to reflect any changes. Skills & Qualifications Experience with tax reporting systems such as Dataphile, Hummingbird, CDS, and DTCC is strongly preferred. Working knowledge or experience with U.S. withholding tax and Canadian NonResident withholding tax is an asset. Familiarity with Canadian, Quebec, and IRS tax reporting requirements, including relevant tax slips (e.g., T5, T3, T5013, T5008, NR4, 1042S). General understanding of the securities industry, investment products, and corporate actions. Knowledge of Canadian income tax concepts; completion of or enrollment in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is an asset. Strong reconciliation skills, supported by education or experience in accounting, finance, or mathematics. Highly organized and exceptionally detailoriented, with a commitment to accuracy. Effective timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure. Strong problemsolving skills; able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
