We are currently seeking a Software Development Manager for our Clio Desktop product. This role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec. If you are local to Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto you will be expected to be in the office minimum twice per week on one of our Anchor Days. Day to day responsibilities Collaborate with your triad to understand business challenges, identify the most impactful opportunities, and craft the team roadmap. Work with your team on designing and implementing technical solutions. Give constructive feedback on code reviews, architecture documents, and other technical deliverables to help team members make sound decisions. Actively contribute code or extensive reviews to ship product features. Hold 1:1 meetings with direct reports to support their career growth and development goals. Participate in hiring to grow the engineering team at Clio. Review code contributed by team members or other Clio developers and provide your expertise on relevant technologies or patterns. Qualifications Strong background building Windows Desktop applications using C# or C++. Demonstrated success leading software development teams, especially for largescale SaaS products. Handson experience in software development. Broad technical knowledge that enables you to help your team solve complex problems. Ability to articulate successful projects and lessons learned from failures. Growth mindset around process improvement and emerging technologies, including AI. Track record of hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining engineering talent. Energetic about both technical work and fostering the career growth of your team. Strong, wellheld opinions and a culture of honest, actionable feedback. Ability to devise roadmaps but remain flexible in a changing environment. Bonus qualifications Philosophy on building great software development teams. Experience in Legal Tech. Experience with Ruby on Rails or Python. Compensation The expected salary range for this role is CAD$176,000 to $264,000, depending on experience and geographic region.
