Overview Working as part of the Americas Property Underwriting team, the role will be focused on securing and maintaining profitable business opportunities through leading edge solutions for client needs. Therefore, the role requires significant interaction with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop and structure tailormade solutions through our risk transfer and servicerelated products, in accordance with the Property Underwriting guidelines and relevant best practices, to enhance our customer and broker experience. Procure new business opportunities through effective marketing strategies designed around supporting our key brokers, fostering new broker relationships, and meeting with prospective clients. Evaluate appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the Property sector, reinsurance cessions, and the underwriting and general administration costs to ensure profitability. Utilize effective sales and negotiating skills to bring new business and renewal transactions to a successful close. Initiate and collaborate internally with other business units to uncover and pursue crosssell opportunities. Manage timely implementation of new and renewal accounts, including referrals, quotes, binders, facultative reinsurance, policies, engineering services, in accordance with company standards. Advise, assist, and service clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure client satisfaction and respond to client and AXA XL queries in a timely manner. Coach and mentor for the development of skills, knowledge and competencies of less experienced colleagues. Develop best practices and share underwriting knowledge within the team. Proactively foster positive relationships with renewal clients, including prerenewal and stewardship engagements to gain a mutual understanding of their needs. Lead and/or assist in continuous improvement projects to benefit Property and, in some cases, the broader organization. Required Skills and Abilities Moderate underwriting experience with thorough technical knowledge of underwriting, rating methodologies, forms and business processes. Some understanding of global and domestic property underwriting. Experience with large account and HPR background is a plus. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, producers and trading partners. Desired Skills and Abilities Bachelors Degree preferred. Excellent analytical, communication, marketing, presentation and negotiation skills. Excellent decisionmaking skills. Benefits The Canada base salary range for this position is CAD 122,000 to 171,000. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individuals skills, experience and location.
