Our client is seeking a strategic and experiencedTransportation & LogisticsSpecialistto lead the transformation of their transportation network across Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba.This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape and modernize a complex, multi-stakeholder logistics system supporting the agri-food industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing the policies, processes, and infrastructure needed to support a high-performing transportation network.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the identification and implementation of opportunities to optimize the client's transportation networkDesign and implement transportation models, policies, SOPs, and governance frameworksCollaborate with producers, processors, transporters, and regulators to drive system-wide improvementsFacilitate infrastructure investments and cost-sharing initiatives, including ROI analysisOversee implementation of transportation compensation model changes and other strategic initiativesIdentify system constraints (e.g., capacity, scheduling, infrastructure) and develop solutionsSupport the selection and implementation of logistics technology to improve coordination and visibilityDevelop short-, medium-, and long-term plans to enhance network performance and resilienceQualificationsExtensive experience in transportation and logistics, preferably withinperishable, refrigerated, or agri-food supply chainsProven success in optimizing complex logistics networks and delivering measurable efficienciesStrong stakeholder management skills in multi-party environmentsExperience developing policies, SOPs, and leading system or process transformationDemonstrated project leadership and ability to execute large-scale initiativesStrong financial and analytical skills, including business case and ROI developmentExperience with logistics systems and technology implementation is an assetFamiliarity with regulated industries and working with government stakeholders is preferredEducationDegree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related fieldCLTD or similar designation preferredProject management certification is an assetWhy Join?Lead ahigh-impact, newly created rolewith a mandate to build and transformInfluence transportation efficiency across Western CanadaWork in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environmentCombine strategic leadership with hands-on executionAt Aplin together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
