This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!We are looking for an Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer to help launch Kardiums high-performance medical devices. In this role, you will work hands-on supporting and improving the next generation of the Globe Pulsed Field System.Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.Meaningful work you will be a part ofThe Intermediate Sustaining Electrical Engineer position combines development and support responsibilities. You will work as part of a highly collaborative team to bring project pieces together. If you are passionate about DFM, DFT and design support and improvement, this is an excellent opportunity to fulfill this desire and ensure a top-tier medical device continues to meet customer needs.Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:Identifying and implementing changes to current circuit board designs to align with Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test principles.Specification and/or design of test fixtures and circuits for automated testing of printed circuit board assembliesInterfacing with manufacturers to identify and transfer appropriate testing activitiesComplex system level debugging (e.g. multi-board systems with multiple processors, firmware, RF, communication links, etc.)Supporting root cause investigations of technical failuresSupporting the NPI team in production process development for predominantly electrical products (e.g. controllers)Supporting the service team in service procedure development for predominantly electrical products (e.g. controllers)What you bring to the teamOur Kardium team is smart, creative, and passionate about creating cuttingedge medical devices to help improve peoples lives. And we understand that only by working together can we solve the unsolvable.MustHave Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineeringSkills and knowledge typically associated with a minimum of three years experience in the design and manufacture of complex electronic systems with exposure to sustaining engineering.Experience with electronics CAD tools, preferably Altium DesignerBasic understanding of automated test development for circuit boardsBoard level analog and digital circuit design experienceProven ability to meet tight timelinesStructured, logical thinker with excellent judgment and pragmatic work approachExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively across multiple disciplines and functions at various levels of the organizationNice to Have:Experience with medical devicedesign and quality requirementsOther Attributes:An exceptional level of technical expertiseProficiency with test and measurement equipmentA strong drive to succeed with a track record of being highly productiveExcellent problemsolving skills and attention to detailAble to deal with changing priorities and requirementsAble to execute tasks with minimal instruction and guidanceAble to rapidly understand new concepts and acquire new skillsCompensationKardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
