Job Description

Assistant Professor Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology. We seek candidates with exceptional promise to develop an externally funded research program in any area of Tumour Immunology, including but not limited to the tumour microenvironment, mechanisms of immunotherapy response and resistance, immunerelated toxicities and comorbidities, translational immunology and biomarker discovery, precision immunooncology, and nextgeneration immunotherapies. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The department has research strengths in immunology, bacteriology, virology, biochemistry of cancer, protein science, and biology of metals. Collaborative opportunities with cancer genomics, neuroscience, cell physiology, the College of Medicine, and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency are available. Research areas of BMI faculty can be explored through our department website and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency site. The department benefits from the Canadian Light Source located on campus and strong affiliations with the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The College of Medicine Core Mass Spectrometry Facility supports proteomics, smallmolecule and targeted metabolomics research, while the Protein Characterization and Crystallization Facility (PCCF) provides a wide range of biophysical methods for studying protein interactions and Xray crystallography. Qualifications Applicants must have a PhD in a related field, postdoctoral experience in tumour immunology, and a demonstrated ability to conduct original, innovative research. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an interest in fostering collaborations with faculty members within the department and across the campus. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary bands for the 20262027 academic year are as follows:Assistant Professor: $113,527 to $135,535Associate Professor: $135,535 to $157,543Professor: $157,543 to $183,219with a higher starting salary possible in rare and exceptional circumstances pursuant to Article 18.2.6.12 of the 20232027 USFA Collective Agreement.
