Core Values: Safety above all else Accountability and ownership Team alignment and collaboration Operational excellence Practical, results-driven decision-making Location: Whitehorse, Yukon Department: Operations / Executive Leadership Description of Duties: Working closely with the Director of operations to together lead the day-to-day operational planning and execution across aircraft, pilots, support staff and equipment Establish and maintain clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making structures for the team Drive performance management across the whole team, including leadership team Implement structured operating rhythms (planning, scheduling, and review cycles) Align leadership team priorities and facilitate effective decision-making Address and resolve conflict constructively within the team Oversee resource planning, including people and equipment allocation Support the development of pilot recruitment and retention strategies Ensure all operations balance safety, efficiency, and commercial objectives Improve operational processes to reduce reactivity and increase predictability Bring and onboard innovative solutions to integrate technology into our operations Demand (Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience): Senior leadership experience in operations (General Manager, COO or similar) Proven ability to lead teams in complex, fast-paced environments (Not just a buzz word, it is very fast-paced during the summer months) Strong operational planning and execution capability Experience implementing structure, systems, and performance management processes Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict within leadership teams Excellent communication and decision-making skills Experience in regulated or high-reliability industries (aviation, mining, construction, transportation, logistics, etc.) Strong safety mindset and commitment to operational integrity The will to maintain the culture and act as mentor to the rest of the team Working closely to people from all sorts of background Qualities That Are Nice to Have: Experience in aviation or air transport operations Experience in seasonal or project-based environments Background in scaling operations or supporting growth phases Familiarity with pilot workforce dynamics or similar specialized labor markets Experience working closely with founders or owner-led businesses Role purpose Bring structure, alignment, and accountability to operations so the business can scale beyond current capacity constraints Translate ownerships direction into consistent execution Continue to build the high performing leadership team Translate ownerships direction into consistent execution
