Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $46.37 - $66.66 / hour Detailed Overview Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families: Reporting to the Director, Indigenous Health or assigned delegate, the Indigenous Health Integration Lead plays a key enabling and enhancing role, aligning priorities between Fraser Health and the Simon Fraser University (SFU) School of Medicine. This position strengthens alignment, coordination, and relationship-building between Fraser Health, the Indigenous Health Medical Program Director, and SFU faculty and program leaders to support culturally safe, respectful, and racism-free medical education and health services. The Indigenous Health Integration Lead supports health system transformation by embedding Indigenous cultural safety, humility, Indigenous-specific antiracism, and traumainformed approaches into practice, policy, and clinical learning environments. This includes preparing Fraser Health teams for medical student placements, and ensuring teaching environments reflect twoeyed seeing, Indigenous methods and approaches to teaching and learning, and Indigenous ways of knowing and being. The individual in this role brings a high degree of cultural credibility, lived experience, and grounding in Indigenous knowledge systems. As a cultural guide and knowledge translator, the Lead shares teachings appropriately, fosters cultural understanding, and upholds relational accountability with First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit communities. This position works collaboratively with community partners, clinical teams, and SFU School of Medicine leadership to ensure Indigenous perspectives and priorities are respectfully embedded across medical education and service delivery within Fraser Health. Responsibilities The Indigenous Health Integration Lead works collaboratively across Fraser Health, Indigenous partners, and the SFU School of Medicine to support culturally safe, inclusive, and communityguided medical education and health services. Key responsibilities are described in the areas of involvement below. Cultural Integration & Educational Support: Serves as a cultural guide and knowledge translator, appropriately sharing Indigenous teachings and supporting learning environments grounded in Indigenous methods and approaches to teaching and learning, twoeyed seeing, landbased learning, and community protocols. Strengthens readiness and capacity among Fraser Health staff, and medical staff to provide culturally safe, relational, and inclusive clinical learning environments for SFU medical students. Supports the alignment of FHA and SFU faculty support for educators and preceptors. Provides Fraser Health context and system insights to inform School of Medicine educational planning. Enables and facilitates SFU medical learners and educators to participate in FH Indigenous engagements and teaching opportunities. Partnerships & Community Relationships: Builds and maintains respectful, distinctionsbased relationships with First Nations Health Directors, Mtis Chartered Communities, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous organizations. Facilitates collaboration between Fraser Health, the Indigenous Health Medical Program Director, and SFU Medicine leadership to support coordinated Indigenousinformed teaching and service delivery. Engages Fraser Health connected Indigenous communities to help build mutual relationships amongst the region including coordination with the School of Medicine when engagement intersects with shared relationships or placements, and liasing between SFU School of Medicine and FHA Indigenous clinics or other FH clinics for placement opportunities. Strategy, Policy & System Transformation: Contributes to organizational strategies, policies, frameworks, and programs that embed Indigenous cultural safety, humility, traumainformed practice, and Indigenousspecific antiracism. Supports health system transformation initiatives and knowledge translation activities that advance Indigenous health and wellness across Fraser Health and the SFU School of Medicine partnership. Research, Evaluation & EvidenceInformed Practice: Conducts literature reviews, data synthesis, and evidence scans to support decisionmaking and continuous quality improvement. Provides support in research and evaluation design using culturally aligned and communityinformed methodologies. Monitors progress, tracks performance measures, and contributes to reporting and evaluation activities. Knowledge Translation, Communication & Reporting: Prepares briefing notes, reports, summaries, and presentation materials that reflect evidence, community perspectives, and organizational priorities. Supports communication and dissemination of Indigenous Health and Wellness activities across Fraser Health. Responds to internal and external inquiries related to Indigenous health, research, and communityguided approaches. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Nursing, Allied Health, or another relevant clinical discipline, with training and/or experience in health service delivery, research, and knowledge translation/exchange. A minimum of five years recent clinical experience in health services, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience working respectfully with First Nations, Mtis, and Inuit communities, navigating cultural protocols, ceremony, and distinctionsbased approaches, while maintaining humility, relational care, and a commitment to Indigenousled, communityguided practice. Valid BC Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle for businessrelated purposes. Ability to design and lead with cultural safety and humility and through a lens of trauma informed care/practice. Working knowledge of change methodologies and tools coupled with a strong understanding of the health system. Ability to influence leaders, physicians and staff at all levels to embrace and take action on change management initiatives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels internally and externally, including within health care, government and Indigenous Communities. Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples in the Fraser Health region and an understanding of colonial impacts on health, wellness, public policy, and engagement. Knowledge of traditional and current Indigenous practices and approaches related to governance and decisionmaking. Demonstrated awareness of social determinants of health, AntiRacism and equity, diversity, and inclusion principles/issues/trends. Knowledge and experience in development of Knowledge Translation and evaluation theories, principles and practice.
