Senior Civil / Structural Engineer Nuclear (BWR)12Month Contract | Fully Remote (Canada & USA EST Hours)Were partnering with a leading organization in the nuclear energy space to hire a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support complex structural design work for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) systems. This is a 12month contract to start, fully remote across Canada and the United States, working EST hours.This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer who enjoys technical leadership, solving complex design challenges, and collaborating across engineering, quality, and regulatory teams in a highly regulated environment.What Youll Do Lead and perform design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for BWR structural systems Translate design requirements into detailed analyses, drawings, and engineering documentation Apply advanced engineering judgment to solve complex structural design challenges Prepare and maintain highquality systems and engineering documentation Develop drawings and specifications to ensure engineering, quality, and regulatory compliance Partner with product line, quality, customers, regulators, and suppliers throughout the design lifecycle Support process approvals and disposition of nonconforming materials Ensure work aligns with regulatory guides, industry codes, and applicable standards Deliver engineering packages and documentation on time while meeting contract and regulatory commitmentsRequired Qualifications Masters or PhD in Civil Engineering 8+ years of experience in the energy industry (nuclear strongly preferred) or a comparable highly regulated technical environment 5+ years of handson design, development, and deployment experience on power plants or similarly complex, highreliability facilities (e.g., power process, marine, or industrial environments) 3+ years in a technical or program leadership role 3+ years working directly with customers, regulators, and suppliers Experience supporting or working on the construction of a nuclear power plant Strong working knowledge of ACI, ASCE, and AWS codes and standardsNice to Have Professional Engineer (PE) license in one or more U.S. states or P.Eng in Ontario Experience with BWR plants, particularly Balance of Plant (BOP), Turbine Island (TI), or HVAC systems Knowledge of nuclear business products, processes, and customers Experience with steel plate composite structures Strong strategic thinking and problemsolving skills Collaborative mindset with strong communication and teambuilding abilities Processoriented approach with a passion for continuous improvementThe pay for this role will be $70-100/hr depending on experience and qualifications.
