Job Description

Position OverviewOur client, a well-established and growing engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Vancouver-based team supporting hydropower and water infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to a range of projects including dam rehabilitation, new hydropower developments, and other civil infrastructure related to water resource systems.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structural engineering solutions across all project phases, from early-stage concept development through to detailed design and construction support. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while also contributing to project leadership and mentorship.Further Responsibilities Include the FollowingLead and contribute to structural design across hydropower and water infrastructure projectsSupport project delivery from feasibility and conceptual design through detailed design and construction phasesManage project scope, schedule, and financial performance on assigned projectsPrepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and client deliverablesAct as a technical resource within multidisciplinary teams, supporting integrated project deliveryProvide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate engineersParticipate in site visits, inspections, and field investigations as requiredCollaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomesSupport proposal development and contribute to business development activitiesIdeal Candidate RequirementsBachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering10+ years of experience in structural engineering within infrastructure, hydropower, or water resource projectsProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in BC or eligibility to obtainStrong understanding of structural design principles, codes, and standardsExperience working across multiple project phases, including design and construction supportProficiency with structural analysis tools such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or similar softwareWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, Mathcad, and standard engineering software toolsStrong communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentationExperience working in multidisciplinary project teamsWillingness to travel for site work within Canada and internationallyWhy This FirmOpportunity to work on technically complex hydropower and water infrastructure projectsCollaborative environment with strong mentorship and technical leadershipHybrid work flexibilityPerformance-based bonus structure with strong track record of payoutsPaid overtime, wellness days, and vacation aligned with experienceComprehensive benefits package including retirement savings and wellness initiativesCommitment to sustainability, ESG principles, and long-term project impactInterested candidates are encouraged to send their resume in word format to this posting or email .
