Senior Project Manager, Power Generation - (192142) At HDR, we are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment where each employee is valued and respected. We are seeking a qualified Senior Project Manager to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owners Engineer and/or Advisor. The Senior Project Manager will be a sellerdoer who maintains client relationships, brings in projects, develops strategies and plans, monitors and communicates status, and leads multidiscipline teams to successful completion of the work. Responsibilities - Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships. - Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals. - Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered. - Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities. - Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client so the project work plan and the clients expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned. Monitor project deliverables for quality, completeness, and conformance to the clients expectations. - Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule. Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls. - Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes. - Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues. - Guide design or consulting work in the managers area of engineering expertise. - Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team. - All other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications - PMP Certification - Experience designing or managing simple cycle and combined cycle EPC projects as owner, owners engineer, OEM, or EPC contractor. - Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects. - Demonstrated business development skills. - Good communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills. - MS Office, Adobe, and other relevant software experience. Required Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Engineering - 10 years related experience - A minimum 5 years project management experience - Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng) - MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be a plus) - Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills - An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employeeowned culture is a must EEO and Equal Opportunity At HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
