Job Description

Maintenance Technician (manufacturing)Interroll Canada is seeking a Maintenance Technician who is self-motivated, able to work independently and takes initiative on maintaining the production facility. The ideal candidate is a versatile maintenance technician with hands-on experience across the manufacturing, industrial control and automation sectors.Responsibilities include mechanical/electrical repairs, PLC troubleshooting, documenting maintenance in logs, and adhering to safety protocols.Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform routine inspection, cleaning, and lubrication of machinery to prevent breakdowns. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, repairing or replacing defective parts (e.g., motors, gears, belts). Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and inventory, utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new production equipment.Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, PLC programming, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls. Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Problem-Solving: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and service manuals to identify root causes of failures. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and stand for long periods. Experience/Education: High school diploma/GED required; technical diploma or industrial experience is highly preferred.Standard Work Conditions Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
