Job Overview We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. ATMIS is the most technologically advanced Indigenous owned manufacturer in the Defence, Space, Nuclear, and Medical industries in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience operating various machining equipment. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. The CNC Machinist will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality production while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. Duties Set up and operate CNC machinery including CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls, Okuma controls, and Haas. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models created in SolidWorks or other CAD software. Write, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs to optimize machining processes. Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. Read and understand GD&T. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and inspection of machining equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or adjustments. Maintain a clean and organized work area following lean manufacturing principles. Assist with material handling using forklifts when necessary. Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with knowledge of CNC programming and operation. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and related machinery. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience in blueprint reading is essential. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes. Experience with machining tools including calipers, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including lean manufacturing principles is preferred. Ability to operate forklifts safely when required. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
