Job Description

Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Composite Stress Analysis Engineer Cabin Interiors to support the design, analysis, and certification of aircraft cabin interior structures. The role involves close collaboration with Design, Certification, Safety, and Supplier teams to ensure structural integrity, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of composite interior components.The position focuses on finite element analysis (FEA), composite material behavior, and compliance with CS/FAR Part 25 structural requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed structural stress analysis of aircraft cabin interior components, including cabin monuments (galleys, lavatories, partitions), passenger and flight attendant seats, and composite panels with supporting structures.Provide stress engineering support for New Head of Version (HOV) and Change Management programs.Conduct conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reviews, offering technical guidance related to stress, certification, and structural integrity.Support Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR) to enable successful design freeze milestones.Review, comment on, and approve Conceptual Design Datasets, installation and interface drawings, and structural load paths and assumptions.Develop, review, and approve Finite Element Models (FEM) prepared by suppliers, ensuring compliance with project and certification requirements.Perform and review static and dynamic structural analyses, including damage tolerance, strength substantiation, and test-to-analysis correlation.Review test plans and test results and ensure alignment with certification and compliance requirements.Coordinate with suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve technical and structural issues efficiently.Collaborate closely with certification engineers to prepare and deliver compliant technical documentation.Support cross-functional teams such as Occupant Safety, RM&S, and Interior Design on an as-needed basis.Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of all assigned engineering tasks.Monitor, track, and report Quality and On-Time Delivery KPIs on a monthly basis.Required Experience & QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Structural Engineering (Masters degree preferred)7+ years of experience in composite and/or metallic stress analysis within the aerospace industry.Proven experience with aircraft cabin interiors (seats, monuments, panels).Technical SkillsStrong hands-on experience with FEA tools: NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperMeshSolid understanding of Composite material behavior and failure modes, Load cases, margins of safety, and substantiation methods, Static, dynamic, and damage tolerance analysisWorking knowledge of CS/FAR Part 25 structural regulations.Familiarity with aerospace interior design and manufacturing processes.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent documentation and technical reporting skillsEffective communication with multidisciplinary teams and suppliersAbility to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environmentKey CompetenciesCustomer Centricity ExpertTeamwork & Collaboration ExpertExecution Excellence ExpertDecision Making ProficientDrive for Results ProficientRelationship Management ProficientGlobal Collaboration ProficientNice to HaveExperience working with Airbus, Boeing, or Tier1 suppliersPrior exposure to certification audits and compliance reviewsExperience supporting supplier-managed FEM and testing activities
