This will be a new role for the facility due to growth. The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for conducting Kaizen workshops and time and motion studies. They will also be responsible for managing various manufacturing performance deliverables such as implementing continuous improvement suggestions, optimizing process flows, and designing plant layouts. The candidate will provide support for technical and manufacturing solutions, including engineering and line balancing, to achieve goals related to research and development, organizational projects, and continuous improvement efforts. The candidate will also oversee the building facilities maintenance, including preventative maintenance and upkeep.DutiesLead material flow throughout the organization-wide Value Stream Mapping (VSM).Work independently and apply experience to all aspects of the assigned job.Initiating and implementing cost reduction processes in a Lean Manufacturing environment.Troubleshoot new equipment and collaborate with various teams to promote team participation.Support the development of a Preventative Maintenance Program for manufacturing process equipment.Review facilities and equipment requirements with internal and external stakeholdersConduct time studies, identify capacity constraints, and seek opportunities for improving efficiencies, ERP usage and production scheduling optimization and reducing manufacturing costs.Train operations staff on new processes and provide instructions.Analyze operations, design work flow and production processes, and ensure products meet quality standards.Design layouts for maximum efficiency of equipment, materials, and workspace.Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to meet company standards.Developing production area models using process flows, value stream maps, Pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to capture material flow, information exchange, and key performance metricsAnalyzing operational data and performance metrics to identify issues and improvement opportunitiesContributing to strategic roadmaps focused on capacity, automation, digital transformation, infrastructure, and new technology integrationPartnering with program management, operations, facilities, and engineering teams to optimize factory layout and support program needsSkillsThe candidate must have a degree/diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a relevant trade certification.
