The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains governmentowned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Albertas population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans. Responsibilities Lead and manage large capital projects ranging from $1 million to over $60 million, ensuring safe, functional, highquality, costeffective, and sustainable facilities that meet Alberta Education and school jurisdiction program delivery needs. Provide overall responsibility and accountability for the delivery of projectsincluding design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and warranty managementaligned with Infrastructure and Alberta Education requirements. Serve as the goto person for all issues and challenges related to the capital projects managed, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within scope. Coordinate with Infrastructure Project Managers, Project Coordinators, client representatives, inhouse team members, privatesector consultants, and contractors to maintain clear communication, roles, and responsibilities. Ensure all project expenditures, contractual commitments, and contract charges are well documented, controlled, and approved within established guidelines. Provide operational information (e.g., maintenance manuals, asbuilt drawings, operational standards) to the facility management team lead upon completion of construction and follow up through the warranty period. Establish and maintain a network of relationships to influence decisionmaking affecting project outcomes, including ongoing client relationship management and industry networking. Provide leadership and direction to the project delivery team by establishing goals and objectives, monitoring progress, and evaluating achievement of goals. Qualifications Required: University degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Technology. Required: Six years of directly related experience. Required: Valid Class 5 drivers license. Equivalency: Related experience or education (e.g., related diploma) may be considered on a oneforone basis. Assets: Construction Contract Administrator Certification or Project Management Certification. Assets: Extensive project management experience with the delivery (planning, design, construction, and commissioning) of building capital projects. Assets: Contract management experience. Assets: Experience managing interdisciplinary teams and resources, and a diverse portfolio of building projects. Assets: Membership in good standing with AAA, APEGGA, or ASET. Assets: Broad current knowledge of design and construction processes to enable knowledgeable discussions with architects, engineers, and general contractors.
