POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will support all manufacturing engineering activities within the assigned cells, including electrical system integration and system troubleshooting, implementing and facilitating lean manufacturing initiatives, implementing engineering change orders, assigning inventory locations, conducting contract reviews, creating shop floor instructions, evaluating standards and completing capital and facility upgrades. WHAT YOU WILL DO Works effectively as a cell team member to ensure operational metrics are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued. Provides manufacturing engineering support and services within assigned manufacturing cell(s). Represents manufacturing engineering within assigned cells at daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings. Maintains current updates on manufacturing engineering related tasks on the manufacturing cell log. Designs or specifies any equipment/tooling/tracking required to support manufacturing. Reviews relevant engineering change orders (ECOs) within assigned cells or assigned option groups and supports all aspects of production implementation. Reviews relevant engineering change notifications (ECNs) within assigned cells at daily cell meetings and weekly plant metrics meetings. Implements and facilitates lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction, etc.). Leads or participates in SWAT team meetings, ensuring that necessary action is taken between crossfunctional groups to resolve issues. Specifies and facilitates capital and equipment upgrades, installations, or modifications. Supports process planning and production engineering. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL Postsecondary education in a related engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience is required for this position. Lean certification or applicable equivalent experience is required for this position. Superior computer and organizational skills. Goaloriented and motivated to achieve tasks within set timelines. Wellversed in AutoCAD. Previous experience working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment would be considered an asset. Knowledgeable in Unigraphics and Oracle would be considered an asset.
