$77,422.00 - $125,510.00/Year (Salary Under Review) Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) The Directorate of Nuclear Cycle Facilities and Regulation (DNCFR) plays an important role in licensing, compliance, enforcement, and reporting regulatory activities that support the CNSC. DNCFRs area of responsibility spans the nuclear fuel cycle from uranium mines, nuclear processing and research facilities, research reactors, to waste management facilities. DNCFR consists of five divisions. Positions' locations: National Capital Region, Chalk River, Ontario and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. What Youll Do As a Project Officer, you will report to the Director and work closely with Senior Project Officer(s) who will provide functional guidance and support. - At the REG6 level, you will lead regulatory activities and project initiatives. - At the REG5 level, you will provide support to regulatory work and project delivery. - Tasks may include licensing, compliance oversight, enforcement activities, regulatory reporting, and project management. Essential Qualifications Education: University degree in science or engineering or an equivalent combination of education, experience and relevant job knowledge. Language Requirements: English essential. Experience: - Project Officer REG5: Experience participating in regulatory compliance and/or licensing activities or work in support of such activities; experience participating in or leading projects/programs within multidisciplinary groups/crossfunctional teams. - Project Officer REG6: Experience performing or leading regulatory compliance and/or licensing activities; leading projects/program management within multidisciplinary groups/crossfunctional teams; experience leading conduct of public outreach and/or Indigenous engagement activities. Knowledge of: Nuclear Safety and Control Act, its regulations, and guidance; CNSC licensing process and activities; CNSC compliance activities; Canadian Nuclear Fuel Cycle; Project management principles. Ability to: Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt to all audiences; prepare and review technical and nontechnical reports, documents, and communications. Operational Needs - All CNSC staff are subject to the Mobility Directive. - Some positions may require frequent travel. - Overtime may be required.
