Electrical Engineer Electrical Discipline Dillons Electrical Discipline is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. The role is based out of any Ontario office and focuses on delivering highquality electrical design and project management across a wide range of projects. Responsibilities Provide full spectrum of project delivery, from requirement gathering, preliminary design, full design, construction, site reviews, commissioning, and troubleshooting for environmental, industrial, manufacturing, commercial, municipal, institutional and infrastructure projects. Design and draft power and electrical systems, including power distribution (low and medium voltage), motor control, lighting systems, instrumentation and control, emergency power generation, fire alarm and security systems, communications systems, and fire alarm systems. Prepare construction cost estimates, technical specifications, drawings, contract documents, and technical reports. Perform testing and verification of electrical systems and assist with site investigations for deficiency reports or existing site conditions during renovation design. Assist with construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, responding to RFI, and issuing contemplated change orders. Complete safe work practice reviews and risk assessments for employee tasks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative staff. Coordinate with utilities, equipment suppliers, contractors, and clients on a regular basis. Peerreview all designs to ensure adherence to Canadian Electrical Code, CSA codes, UL, National Building Codes, NFPA, and other standards. Lead business development activities: client need research, preparation of proposals, and presentations. Mentor junior staff in project management, training, coaching, and career development. Qualifications Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university. Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or eligible to be licensed within six months. Minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience. Experience Proven experience in low and medium voltage electrical systems: equipment selection, oneline diagrams, engineering studies, load analysis, voltage drop, equipment sizing, conduit and wire sizing, grounding, bonding, shortcircuit, arcflash, relay coordination. Design experience with SCADA, overhead and underground electrical design, motor control, lighting, and communication systems. Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation. Delivery of accurate, constructable designs meeting industry standards and good engineering practices. Project management and business development across various project types. Code compliance reviews for Canadian Electrical Code, CSA, UL, National Building Codes, NFPA, and others. Coordination with power and communications utilities for connection to existing and new networks. Maintenance of complete project documentation: design and construction, completion packages, asbuilt records. Leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams. Experience in electrical power and distribution design, fault protection, and protective relay design for utilities is a plus. Technical leadership and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
