Pay or shift range: $18.20 CAD to $18.38 CAD Description Summer Day Camp Site Supervisor Location YMCA Day Camp at sites in St. Catharines, Grimsby, Welland, Port Colborne, and Niagara Falls Pay $18.20-$18.38 /hour Employment Type Seasonal Contract 42.5 to 44 hours per week. Hours of work are primarily Monday to Friday daytime, with some evenings and weekends required. Placement Date June 1 September 4, 2026, plus hours of paid pre-camp training Why Work for the YMCA? NATURE & SCOPE The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a single YMCA Day Camp site, providing direct leadership to camp staff and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging experience for campers. The role ensures compliance with YMCA Child & Youth Safety and Protection Policies, Ontario Camps Association standards, and YMCA Health and Safety requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES Program & Site Operations Oversee the daily operation of a YMCA Day Camp site, ensuring safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate programming. Implement camp schedules, activities, and routines in alignment with YMCA Day Camp standards and direction from senior leadership. Support site setup, daily operations, and endofseason site closing requirements. Provide direct supervision, coaching, and ongoing feedback to camp counsellors and site staff. Support onboarding and sitelevel training, modeling YMCA values and expected behaviours. Participate in midsummer and endofsummer performance evaluations in collaboration with the Regional Supervisor. Address daytoday staff concerns and elevate performance, attendance, or conduct issues as required. Camper Safety & Risk Management Ensure compliance with YMCA Child & Youth Safety and Protection Policies, Ontario Camps Association standards, and YMCA Health and Safety requirements. Maintain appropriate stafftocamper ratios and consistent supervision practices. Respond to incidents, injuries, and behavioural concerns, completing required documentation and notifying senior leadership. Family Communication & Engagement Act as the primary onsite contact for parents/guardians regarding daily camp operations. Communicate professionally and in a timely manner regarding camper needs, incidents, or concerns. Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful camp environment for campers and families. Leadership & Professional Expectations Complete attendance tracking, incident reports, and required documentation accurately and on time. Monitor site supplies and resources and report needs to the Regional Supervisor. Monitor and respond to site inquiries during working hours using assigned YMCA communication tools. Collaborate with the Regional Supervisor and peer Site Supervisors to ensure consistency across sites. Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Act as a role model for YMCA values, professionalism, and ethical conduct at all times. May be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet operational, program, or organizational needs. QUALIFICATIONS Current Standard First Aid/CPR(C) Certification Currently enrolled in or completion of a postsecondary program in a child or youthrelated field A minimum of two years experience supporting or delivering programs in a camp or child and youth services environment NonViolent Crisis Intervention (Crisis Prevention Institute) Training is an asset Experience in supervising and coaching staff and volunteers is an asset Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara if above the age of 18 Working Conditions Work is in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions Day Camp Site Supervisors typically work Monday through Friday, scheduled for shifts between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm Evening and weekend work will be required during training and for staff meetings This role requires participation in activities involving varying levels of physical activity. DAY CAMP OVERVIEW Camp operates Monday to Friday with shifts scheduled between 7:45am-5:15pm. Most camp staff are scheduled to work between 7.5 and 8.5 hours per day.
