About the Role As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that support longterm product development. This is a handson engineering role with a strong focus on TypeScript and PHP (Symfony), contributing to reliable, wellstructured systems that integrate with cloud services and external platforms. This is a longterm position, suited to someone who enjoys working on evolving products, collaborating with other engineers, and taking ownership of features from development through to production. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and PHP (Symfony) Build and consume APIs, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and welldocumented Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of existing systems and services Collaborate with other engineers to deliver features aligned with product and technical goals Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices Support deployments and ongoing operation of services in a cloudbased environment Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and technical improvements as part of ongoing development Requirements 3+ years of professional experience with TypeScript in a production environment 3+ years of experience with PHP, including handson work with Symfony 1+ year of experience designing and working with APIs Experience building and maintaining backend services for longterm products Familiarity with cloudbased development and deployment concepts Ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team while taking ownership of assigned work Nice to Have 1+ year of experience with AWS, particularly working with cloudhosted services 1+ year of experience with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL databases Exposure to eventdriven or distributed systems Experience improving performance, scalability, or reliability of backend services Interest in learning and evolving with cloudnative technologies over time Benefits Fixed Shifts: 12:00 PM - 9:30 PM IST (Summer) | 1:00 PM - 10:30 PM IST (Winter) No Weekend Work: Real worklife balance, not just words Day 1 Benefits: Laptop and full medical insurance provided Support That Matters: Mentorship, community, and forums where ideas are shared True Belonging: A longterm career where your contributions are valued At Smart Working, youll never be just another remote hire.
