Responsibilities for theProduct DevelopmentCoordinator include but are not limited to:Collaborate with designers to ensure product specifications are met and designs are translated accurately into samplesCommunicate with suppliers daily to ensure the timely receipt and evaluation of product samplesFollows and adheres to design calendarMaintain accurate and up-to date records of products specifications, sample details and production timelines.Generate reports and summaries as required by the design team.Understands customers strict deadlines and ensures that deadlines are met.Track and manage product samples throughout the development process.Communicate any issues that will cause delays in meeting the customer or market deadlinesPreparingflat sketches and technical sketchesPreparing detailed technical packages (sketches, fabric information and trim details)Organize and maintain consistency and accuracy of information for design, development and the Sales team (technical packages, artworks, fabric sourcing)Constantly review and develop best practices to optimize product development procedures and ensure efficiency. Identify area for improvement and concerns and make recommendationsCollaborate with production team on approving strike offs, lab dips and fabric qualitiesReview all development samples and cross check with tech pack to ensure that all details are accuratePhotograph all development samples and tag them with required informationEnsure coordination between sampling and the technical department (fitting styles) and productionFabric and trim sourcingRequirements for the role of theProduct Development:At least 3 years of experience in a similar roleEducation in Fashion DesignProven experience in fashion design and product developmentAbility to work in a fast pace environmentAbility to work with strict deadlines and multitaskMust have excellent knowledge of Adobe IllustratorKnowledge of Photoshop is an added bonusGood knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)Strong communication skills in EnglishStrong organizational skillsStrong knowledge in garment construction and fabrics
