About the positionAs the Research & Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator, you provide essential coordination and administrative support that enables the effective delivery of research and knowledge mobilization initiatives aligned with the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukons strategic priorities. Your work helps ensure activities are well managed, evidence informed and meaningfully engage people with lived experience of dementia.You support research partnerships, participant engagement and knowledge mobilization activities by maintaining internal tracking systems, monitoring timelines and preparing accessible materials. Working closely with colleagues, researchers, community partners and people with lived experience, you also assist with literature scans, contribute to drafting research summaries and other accessible resources, and support event coordination and the dissemination of dementiarelated research to diverse audiences.In this role you report to the Manager, Research and Knowledge Mobilization.Title: Research & Knowledge Mobilization CoordinatorSalary range (level 7): $60,000 to $64,000 per yearContract: Permanent Hours: Full time 35 hours per weekLocation: HybridKey responsibilitiesResearch and partnership coordinationCoordinate and support research partnerships and advisory committees, including managing logistics, documentation and ongoing collaborative activities. Maintain and monitor internal tracking systems and team commitments to support research activities, including timelines, deliverables and partnership commitments.Support the recruitment and coordination of people with lived experience participating in Research & Knowledge Mobilization activities, ensuring appropriate coordination and alignment with organizational processes.Research, writing and knowledge developmentConduct literature and environmental scans and prepare synthesized summaries to support strategic decision-making and knowledge mobilization planning. Draft evidence summaries, research briefs and background materials.Contribute to the development of evidence-informed organizational resources.Knowledge mobilization and eventsAssist in preparing accessible materials for research engagement.Coordinate conference submissions and event logistics, including annual Research Luncheons.Communications, inquiries and reportingMonitor the Research & Knowledge Mobilization team inbox and triage inquiries to the appropriate team member in a timely manner.Respond directly to routine inquiries where appropriate and draft responses to external research-related questions and frequently asked questions.Maintain a tracking system of external inquiries to identify emerging themes and inform resource development priorities.Maintain records in the Societys database.Coordinate the collection and tracking of departmental analytics to support key performance indicators (KPIs) and impact reporting.Other duties as required to meet the Societys organizational goals. About you You have a graduate degree in a social science or health field (e.g., gerontology, sociology, psychology, health sciences, public health), or an equivalent combination of education, practical experience, and lived experience that equips you with the knowledge and skills needed for this role. An undergraduate degree in a social science or health field, with commensurate experience, may be considered. Having worked in a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset and will help you better understand the needs of our community. Key qualificationsYou have 2-4 years of relevant experience supporting research, evaluation, knowledge mobilization or project coordination in a health, academic or not-for-profit setting.You have a solid understanding of dementia research and knowledge mobilization principles.You bring strong administrative, analytical, project management and coordination skills, supporting logistics, documentation and scheduling.Alongside a high level of initiative, self-motivation and creativity, you bring a processoriented mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen workflows and support operational excellence across the team.You demonstrate advanced writing skills, including the ability to translate complex scientific constructs into accessible language for summaries, evidence briefs and engagement materials.You effectively prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines or changing priorities.You confidently use existing technology and processes and remain open to adopting new tools and skills.You communicate clearly and respectfully, seeking clarification when needed to ensure shared understanding.You actively collaborate with colleagues, share ideas openly and welcome diverse perspectives to enhance team outcomes.You recognize and address routine challenges, using sound judgement to know when to consult others or seek input.Having experience working with people with lived experience of dementia and community partners would be an asset.Technical competencies Experience using Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.).Experience working with Canva.Experience with content management systems and Google Analytics would be an asset.Ability to travel occasionally and have scheduling flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend work.About usAs a member of the team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits, including: Flexible work options, including flex days and hybrid arrangements. 4 weeks vacation to start, 12 sick days, 2 personal days as part of a 35-hour work week.13 paid holidays, with an option to switch days for a personal cultural preference.Full health and dental benefits, including a Health Care Spending Account, group RRSP and Employee Assistance Program for you and your dependents.
