Senior Electrical Project Manager The OpportunityA high-growth, Calgary-based electrical contracting company is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Manager to join their expanding team. They value people who show up with energy, take ownership, and make things happen.What You'll DoLead assigned electrical projects from kickoff through closeout and final client handoffManage project scope, budgets, schedules, documentation, and overall performanceOversee multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, profitability, and client satisfactionPrepare and manage project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reportingIdentify and address risks early to protect schedule, margin, and project outcomesWork closely with clients, engineers, consultants, foremen, and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful executionReview and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and related project documentation with urgency and accuracyEnsure cost impacts are clearly communicated and approved before work proceeds whenever possibleCoordinate procurement planning with the Purchasing Manager for long-lead materials and project-specific needsReview material requests and takeoffs to support field productivity and cost controlManage labour planning and manpower allocation across projectsProvide leadership, mentorship, and accountability to foremen, electricians, and field teamsKeep field teams informed on project updates, revisions, scheduling changes, and client expectationsConduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, workmanship, and team coordinationCoordinate inspections, disconnects/reconnects, meter requests, CT installs, permitting, and municipal requirements as neededReview and approve foremen-submitted hours for payroll accuracy and timely processingMaintain accurate project records, schedules, budgets, reports, and internal documentationLead closeout activities including deficiencies, turnover packages, O&M manuals, and final documentationEnsure compliance with applicable codes, safety requirements, and company quality standardsParticipate in post-project reviews to support continuous improvement and team developmentRepresent the company professionally in all client, supplier, field, and internal interactionsWhat You Bring510+ years of experience in electrical project management, electrical construction, or related field leadershipProven track record managing electrical projects with full responsibility for schedule, budget, and executionStrong understanding of electrical construction practices, project sequencing, and field operationsExperience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong financial and operational knowledge budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and change managementAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, estimates, and schedulesKnowledge of permitting, inspections, code compliance, and municipal/utility coordinationProficiency in Procore, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Projects, or similar PM softwareAdvanced Excel proficiency you use it confidently, not reluctantlyPMP certification is an assetJourneyman Electrician certification or strong field-based electrical experience is a strong assetWho You AreBeyond the resume, here's who actually thrives in this role:You're a confident leader who takes ownership and doesn't wait to be told what to doYou can balance field realities with project financial performance without breaking a sweatYou build trust with clients, crews, and internal teams through clear and honest communicationYou stay ahead of problems you're not putting out fires, you're preventing themYou bring energy and enthusiasm to the work this isn't just a job to you
