Mechanical Designer (Building Systems) | Burlington, ONThe OpportunityWe are partnering with a well-established MEP consulting engineering firm to support the hire of a Mechanical Designer for their Burlington office. Join a tight-knit, collaborative team delivering a diverse range of building projects across the residential, institutional, and commercial sectors.This opportunity is ideal for a Mechanical Designer or EIT who enjoys a mix of design, coordination, and client interaction, and is looking to grow within a stable, hands-on consulting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare mechanical system designs and drawings (HVAC, plumbing, and related systems) using AutoCAD.Participate in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.Support construction through site visits and field reviews.Assist with project documentation and drawing revisions across design and construction phases.Communicate directly with clients, consultants, and internal team members.Ensure designs align with project requirements, codes, and standards.Qualifications4+ years of experience in mechanical design within consulting engineering (buildings/M.E.P.)EIT or Mechanical Designer level (non-P.Eng.)Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (core requirement)Working knowledge of Revit is considered an asset.Experience across building types such as residential, institutional, or commercial.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients.Must have consulting engineering experience (no industrial/manufacturing background)Ability to work both independently and within a small team environment.Project ExposureHigh-rise and low-rise multi-residential developmentsLong-term care facilitiesHotels and restaurant chainsSecondary schools, elementary schools, and universitiesOffice buildingsCompensation TransparencyThe expected compensation for this role is approximately $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.All compensation details will be discussed further during the hiring process.Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)Artificial intelligence (AI) is not used to screen, assess, or make hiring decisions for this role.
