About the Role:Our client is an international consulting firm that is hiring for a Mechanical Designer in Ottawa. They support project portfolios for federal government, commercial, institutional, labs, and light industrial clients. Designing and engineering mechanical building systems for new and existing buildings. They are a premium-positioned firm with a growing footprint in the Ottawa area.The Mechanical Designer is a Work From Home role based in Ottawa. This position requires eligibility for security clearance, as this role will be supporting government projects.Salary: $80 000 to $105 000Office Policy: Work From Home (Must be local to Ottawa for site and client visits in the local area)Here's what you'll be doing:Carry out mechanical building systems design and engineering projects for multiple sectors (government, commercial, institutional, labs, and light industrial)Detailed design, coordination, verification and design of various mechanical building systems projectsEnsure client satisfaction throughout projectsSurvey existing installations in the Ottawa areaAnalyze, design and adapt building-related installationsInterdisciplinary coordination with external professionalsWrite specifications and technical reportsProvide assistance in regards to site supervisionHere's what you'll need:Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering.3-7+ years of experience in a consulting firm with building projects.Solid knowledge of Ontario/Canadian building codes, construction practices, and permitting processes.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
