Location: Markham, ON Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Work Arrangement: Fully OnsiteOnly candidates legally eligible to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship will be contactedJob OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Resiliency Specialist to join our client in Markham, Ontario. This role is responsible for managing and enhancing the companys Business Resiliency Program, ensuring operations can effectively respond to disruptions and continue with minimal business impact.This position will work closely with operations, technology, security, and business stakeholders to strengthen business continuity, disaster recovery readiness, risk management, and compliance practices.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Resiliency / ContinuityManage day-to-day Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) activitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve business continuity and disaster recovery plansConduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessmentsIdentify program gaps and recommend remediation strategiesCoordinate and lead DR testing, tabletop exercises, and emergency communication drillsSupport incident response, crisis escalation, and recovery readiness activitiesLead stakeholder meetings and provide regular program status updatesMaintain documentation, metrics, reports, and continuous improvement initiativesEnsure alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service commitmentsCompliance / Client SupportSupport internal and external auditsAssist with client questionnaires, attestations, and resiliency requestsCoordinate periodic recovery testing with internal and external stakeholdersHelp align service expectations such as RTO / RPO with established recovery capabilitiesOperational SupportAssist with controlled processes, inventories, documentation, and audit readinessSupport business-critical operational procedures and internal controlsMaintain accurate records and process documentationQualifications5+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, or related fieldsStrong understanding of BIA, RTO, RPO, risk assessments, and recovery planningExperience coordinating DR testing, exercises, or resiliency programsFamiliarity with audits, controls, compliance, and documentation standardsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPlanIT is an equal opportunity employer.
