Position Summary The ScotiaMcLeod Branch Manager is responsible for the development and achievement of defined business priorities for the Branch through the profitable delivery of superior client service and holistic wealth solutions to high and ultrahigh net worth clients and businesses. The incumbent is responsible for leading and coaching the branch team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide a wide array of total wealth management solutions and motivate advisors to exceed sales growth and profitability goals. A key focus of the incumbent will be branch growth through advisor acquisition. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute branch business plans and growth strategy: Serve as the primary leadership contact for the branch, broaden and deepen client relationships by bringing together the expertise and resources of Scotia Wealth Management, and develop and maintain an external Centres of Influence network for business referrals. - Lead the sales/service management strategy: Lead, coach and motivate advisors to exceed sales growth and profitability goals; develop and maintain a broad knowledge base to ensure all clientfacing team members can promote the full suite of Wealth products and services. - Oversee compliance management for the Branch: Maintain oversight of supervisory functions and Tier 1A compliance requirements; partner with Compliance and National Supervision to execute business priorities/initiatives in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. - Ensure operational effectiveness for the Branch: Execute the ScotiaMcLeod recruitment strategy for Wealth Advisors; manage the branch profit plan (e.g., revenue planning, expenditures); support client experience issues and the formal complaints process. - Motivate and develop individual and team performance: Foster a strong, positive team environment, drive business development, innovation and high engagement; conduct internal communications to keep employees aware of key projects and corporate goals; identify and support training and development needs; facilitate a culture of open communication through regular touchbases, team meetings, and encouraging idea generation. Qualifications - Expert knowledge of the wealth management advisory industry and influencing factors. - Exceptional wealth advisory business development and leadership experience of at least 10+ years in the industry. - Welldeveloped network of senior stakeholders and advisors. - Superior leadership and management skills with the ability to collaborate across all divisions. - Expertise in sales management techniques. - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a strategic plan with a record of delivering results in a large organization. - Proven change agent with business building, general management, team motivation and communication skills. - Postgraduate business degree (e.g., MBA) and a CFA (or equivalent) is an asset. - Required education, examination, training, and experience to be registered as a Supervisor with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO); additional courses may be required for the Derivatives Supervisor designation.
